In the short time that I’ve been here, not only have I enjoyed my time here, more importantly, I’ve learned more than I ever though I would. This program has really let me be more confident in my abilities and in continuing to learn more every single day. I’m excited for my future here and in barbering.

Eminence Barber Academy has given me a great experience these past 9 months. Overall I’ve learned so much along side my classmates. Going to school, learning, and enjoying my time with my classmates makes me look forward to school every day.

I WISH I KNEW ABOUT THIS SCHOOL SOONER!!

I’ve been looking at barber schools since 2016 and I found this school in 2018 because I just couldn’t find a school that was just right for me. Eminence Barber Academy is a great school for people to start your journey into the barber industry. I mainly joined this academy for its flexibility and the rest such as comfortability and hospitality made it even better.

Because I have a family and could not just quit my job to attend school. Upon orientation, I was able to get a school schedule to show my job to get the schedule I needed to work and attend the full-time program. No other school was able to give me a schedule. This school is very family-oriented and you won’t feel out of place. Also, YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO CUT HAIR!! This isn’t one of those schools that you won’t learn how to cut hair at all. As long as your efforts and dedication are there you will learn how to cut hair! I had very minimal haircutting experience coming to this school and I have gotten 100x better by attending this school and motivation.

The CEO/Director is very involved with every student and gives a lot of information for cutting hair and doing demos on different textures of hair to ensure you are getting a well-rounded learning experience. The atmosphere is good. Students are utilizing each other to learn multiple methods of haircutting. As far as the state board procedures this school is heavy on that. You will learn the procedures with the curriculum they provide. You do procedures daily to ensure you know how to do them correctly and utilize them throughout cutting hair. This school helped me a lot for the future barber I will become.

I was a student in the first graduating class at Eminence Barber Academy. I’ve now been graduated and licensed for a little over two years and did not think I’d be where I am today this fast. The staff at Eminence motivated me to be the best I could be. I went in with zero barber skills, many of the other students had been cutting hair for years prior and at first that was very intimidating.

Fern and Mr. A kept me moving forward even when at times I didn’t think I would ever be good enough. At the time I’d struggle to do the simplest haircuts always relying on Fern or Mr. A to help me but they helped me become confident in myself and my skill. They taught us to be humble and not to expect to be making over 1k a week as a barber, they made it clear that nothing is given and everything is earned.

Now 2 years later, here I am. I’ve had the pleasure of cutting celebrities like professional boxer Ryan Garcia, NBA players like Derrick White of the San Antonio Spurs and NFL players like Super Bowl champ Tyler Pulumbus, among others. At the time, in school, making 1k a week seemed surreal but now after hard work and a few risks I’m now living in Colorado making over 2k a week as a barber doing what I love in my studio. It wasn’t easy but it is very possible with the right mindset and the right people to push you to your goals.

Needless to say, I could not have gotten this far without Fernando and his Eminence staff. Joining the Eminence family was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I will always be grateful for them.
